Editorial standardsAbout the newsroom
UPS Negotiations gives rank-and-file Teamsters the contract language, evidence, organizing resources and source transparency needed to participate before bargaining becomes a last-minute national emergency.
UPS Negotiations is independent and built for rank-and-file UPS Teamsters. We lead with member impact, contract enforcement and preparation while testing claims from UPS, International leadership, Local leaders, rank-and-file organizations and individual members against documents and attributable evidence. Worker-first does not mean uncritical: opinion and analysis are labelled, and no institution speaks for every member.
We correct material errors promptly and attach the correction to the affected article. Silent edits are limited to spelling, grammar and formatting that do not change meaning. Substantive revisions update the timestamp and remain in the audit history.
The launch publication is ad-free and does not accept sponsorships. No company, union, caucus, vendor or political organization controls coverage. Any future funding model will be disclosed before it begins and separated from editorial decisions.
Automation monitors allowlisted feeds, detects duplicates and classifies topics. It may publish a narrowly formatted, attributed Source Brief using supplied source material. It does not auto-publish original analysis, allegations or invented summaries. Human editors remain responsible for the newsroom.
The public site uses cookieless audience measurement with session replay disabled to understand referrals, shares, newsletter conversion and topic interest. Analytics never loads on the tips page. Newsletter consent and suppression records are retained to honor reader choices. The application does not store tip-source IP addresses, although hosting, security, email and storage providers may retain operational metadata under their own policies.
The newsroom protects source identities in reporting when requested, but this form does not provide technical anonymity. Attachments are private, quarantined and scanned before editor access. Unclean, prohibited or unscannable files are deleted. Inactive tips are deleted after 90 days unless an editor documents a reporting or legal retention hold. Highly sensitive sources should use an established SecureDrop newsroom instead.
UPS Negotiations is not affiliated with or endorsed by UPS or the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. UPS is a registered trademark of United Parcel Service of America, Inc. Teamsters names and insignia belong to their respective owners. The publication does not use either organization’s logo as its identity.
